Hangeng to Return with New Album in July

For all the Super Junior fans who’ve been waiting anxiously on news about Hangeng, wait no longer!

Hangeng, who is currently still in a lawsuit with SM Entertainment, appeared yesterday at the opening ceremony of New Power Music Plan held by Enlight Media Group. Yuan Weiren, a representative for Enlight stated at the event that the company would be helping the former Suju member release his album and start a new solo career.

The New Power Music Plan was launched by Enlight with the goal of promoting new singers. They plan on releasing 5 new album with 5 experienced musicians, Zhang Yadong, Yuan Weiren, Gao Xiaosong, Paul Wong and Xiao Ke acting as producers through July to November. All besides Zhang Yadong and Xiao Ke were present at the event to give a warm welcome to the new star.

Humble as always, Hangeng stated that he was very ‘excited’ and that he hoped that his new songs could be included in those five albums. Later on he said, “I’m very greedy, and if I have a chance, I wanted these 5 musicians help me to produce an album.” Yuan added that he was already starting to prepare an album for Hangeng and that he had already gotten half the songs on the album.

As Hangeng hasn’t ended his lawsuit with SM Entertainment yet, most of the questions that the reporters had fell to Yuan and Gao and apparently the reporters were pretty persistent.“I hope the newspaper tomorrow won’t be talking about ‘me and Yuan Weiren have made a new album for Hangeng’, actually I was just compromising the cooperation with Hangeng , and those are related to dancing and singing, not the new album,” Gao said. Reporters speculate that Hangeng will sign a record contract with Enlight Media Group after his lawsuit with SME is over.

It is believed that Gao is currently discussing the terms of the contract with Hangeng. Let’s hope that Hangeng finds a place where he can be happy and share his talents fully with the world.

After the other artists come up, the host asks Hangeng about how he’s feeling and Hangeng says that he feels pressured since the artists are all his seniors. He goes on to say that many young people including himself have been influenced by these seniors, and he talks about the different memories he has growing up to each of the artists’ music. The host then asks him what sort of songs he’d like for the musicians to write for him and Hangeng says that if he had a chance, he likes to ask all five to write for him. Finally each of the musicians talk about what kind of song they would write for Hangeng.
