The internet is buzzing with the news that SNSD’s manager aggressively stopped an excited fan by hurling her cell phone to the ground.
On May 22nd, SNSD made a surprise appearance at an American football game at Korea University, performing their hit song Oh! to support the football players. They were the opening act for the football play-offs. Excited fans showed off just how great SNSD’s popularity is when they all excitedly crowded around the nation’s girl group.
However, it seemed that one fan got too close to the girls and snapped pictures with her cell phone. This angered their manager, who promptly took the phone from the girl’s hand and flung it to the ground.
One witness said, “SNSD was surrounded by a mob of fans, and during that extremely chaotic situation, their manager blocked off one fan’s phone and threw it to the ground.”
In the above photo, you can clearly see that the fan’s phone case and battery fell apart upon impact, demonstrating just how forcefully the manager threw the phone.
SNSD’s management company, SM Entertainment, spoke to Newsen and confirmed the situation, “As SNSD was exiting the field after wrapping up the event, their fans were crowding them and cornering them. In that situation, one fan [was too close and] tried snapping pictures of the girls’ faces, and that is why her phone ended up on the ground.”
What an unfortunate incident to happen after an exciting day. However, it was for the girls’ protection… or was it? Was what their manager did right or wrong?
