The Hallyu Wave is at it again! Not only has Korean entertainment reached Asia, Europe, and the Americas, but it’s also becoming well known in the Middle East!
An industry source recently disclosed that Personal Taste, starring Lee MinHo and Son YeJin, has been sold in a few third world countries like United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Jordan.
The source said, “These countries are very interested in Lee Minho’s exotic looks in particular. They are even asking if he is really Korean.”
He also added that Lee MinHo is “likely to solidify his position as a major Hallyu influence during the latter half of the year” since the overseas broadcast could further expand the Korean Wave.
So far, the only Korean drama to have been exported to the Middle East was MBC’s 2004 hit Jewel in the Palace, starring top actress Lee YoungAe.
Personal Taste is the second Korean drama to ever have been sold in the Middle East! A real accomplishment indeed!
