SM Entertainment Breaks Profit Records

Whether its small or huge, it just proves that former CEO Lee SooMan really knows how to handle things under his provision. As of the first quarter of 2010, SM Entertainment have recorded the biggest profit the company has ever achieved.

One of the top three talent agencies in Korea alongside JYPE and YG – SM Entertainment gained an operating profit of 10.4 billion won from January to March this year, up an astounding 471% from the same period last year when the total operating profit for the entire year had been 9.3 billion won.

We are talking about numbers here people – don’t doze off because its getting bigger than ever. The agency’s total sales during the first quarter was reported at 22.7 billion won, indicating a growth of about 58% for the company.

So who is the reason for this increasing progress of SME’s profits? Well none other than the artists of course. Top idol groups such as Girls Generation, Super Junior, SHINee andf(x). The agency is expecting more profit these coming months as some of their artists are scheduled to release new records and hold concerts all over Asia.

In addition, SM Entertainment’s former CEO Lee Soo Man, BoA and DBSK’s YunHo andChangmin will be attending Samsung Electronic’s 3D Content Development Press Conference at Seocho-dong Seoul tomorrow, May 14th. The conference will address the expansion of 3D related content including movies, music and other tools of advertising.

Alongside the Agency’s production team, Director James Cameron will also be at the conference too. If you don’t have any idea who Mr. Cameron is – well, he was the one who brought us the blockbuster 3D sci-fi hit movie Avatar.
